Unthank Books publishes the type of books publishers used to publish, the type of books you used to like. We mean novels which speak for themselves, and non-fiction which does not aim to appeal to the lowest common denominator and to say not very much about a nobody.

• We are aesthetically driven, not commercially driven.

• 'Comic' and 'cult' are not dirty words.

• 'Alternative' is a good thing.

• We 'create' celebrity authors not 'sign' them.

Unthank is publishing two books this year beginning with TOUCHING THE STARFISH by Ashley Stokes, which was first released on 01022010 - a palindromic date of note - and the 'Unthology', a collection of shorter pieces of fiction by various authors at the end of the year
